Melbourne, Meet Your New Fridge Essential: Zaidys Pastrami

Thick-cut, fridge-ready, and full of flavour – our 200g pastrami packs have officially landed

There’s a special kind of joy in standing in front of your fridge, hungry and half-inspired, and finding something in there that doesn’t just fill a gap – it actually excites you.

We’ve got news: that moment just got a lot better.

As of now, Zaidys thick-cut, spice-crusted pastrami is finally available to take home, all packed up and ready to heat. Our 200g vacuum-sealed packs – made from the same slow-cooked brisket we supply to Melbourne’s best cafes, wine bars and delis – are hitting fridges across the city.

If you've had our pastrami out and about – maybe tucked into a Reuben at Pecks Road, layered onto rye with mustard at Butchers Diner, or presented in the window at Little Sister bakery – this is your chance to bring that same experience home. And if you haven’t yet, welcome!

Why we made these packs

Over the past few months, you might’ve spotted Zaidys behind the deli counter – sliced to order and wrapped up in butcher’s paper. That was already a huge step forward for us: getting our pastrami into homes, not just onto cafe menus.

But we wanted to go further.

These new 200g packs are about making Zaidys even easier to grab and enjoy – no wait at the counter, no worrying about portioning. Just thick-cut slices, vacuum-sealed at peak freshness, ready to be added to your grocery basket and kept in your fridge for whenever you need it.

It's the same quality brisket pastrami we’ve always made, now with a longer shelf life and more flexibility. Whether you're building the perfect sandwich or just upgrading your snack game, these packs are here to make pastrami at home feel effortless.

Where to find them

You’ll find the first batch of Zaidys Pastrami packets at grocers like Victoria Fruit Palace in Ripponlea, LaManna Essendon Fields, Toscanos Toorak & Kew, as well as all of The Leaf Store grocers. See full list of 200g-pack stockists here.

Some of our favourite ways to enjoy 200g of pastrami at home

  • Reheated gently and served on rye with mustard and pickles

  • Stuffed into a pita with red cabbage and hummus

  • Layered onto a breakfast bagel with eggs

  • Added to a snack plate with cheddar and pickles

Or – let's be honest – straight from the fridge.

What’s next?

We’re proud of this next chapter. This isn’t just about selling pastrami – it’s about creating something that feels personal, shareable, and fridge-worthy. We want you to keep a pack on hand for when friends drop by, when the sandwich craving hits, or when you want to level up lunch without much effort.

Keep an eye out for new stockists, recipes, and a few cheeky collabs coming soon.

And if you spot a pack in the wild, tag us. We’d love to see what you do with it!

Ps. If you're a local venue interested in stocking our packs, drop us a line. And yes – we're still wholesaling our full hunks to cafes and restaurants too.
